Nonprofits recognized among global marketing leaders

in Cultivation & Stewardship,Mobile for Nonprofits - marketing and fundraising

There are nonprofit organizations among the finalists for the Mobile Marketing Association’s 6th Annual Global Awards.  “As the MMA’s highest honors, these awards recognize companies and their campaigns for spearheading the adoption of the mobile channel for marketing purposes.”

The categories from which winners will be chosen are:

Branding
Cross-Media Integration . . . The American Red Cross is a finalist in this category for the North America region
Direct Response
Product / Services Launch
Promotion
Relationship Building
. . . doesn’t this sound like a category perfect for nonprofits?  In fact I believe that the true potential and most beneficial use of mobile for nonprofits is in cultivation and relationship building.  Will your organization’s name be here next year?
Innovation
Social Impact
. . . 3 nonprofits: Mobile Accord – mGive; Mobile Giving Foundation for Mobile Giving and Haiti; and the Praekelt Foundation for Young Africa Live (all finalists for the North American region)
Academic of the Year

The winners will be announced at the Annual Global Awards dinner and ceremony on November 17, 2010 at the Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles.

Please don’t think that only the very large and international nonprofits can use mobile.  Mobile giving may not make sense for you (e.g., not a large enough house file to make it economical), but you can still cultivate your supporters via mobile.

And you would be amazed how easily you can get a simple text messaging process set up.  Here’s a soup-to-nuts guidebook that will catapult your education (easy to understand, non-techie content written for fundraisers), and give you lots of examples on how you can cultivate and build stronger relationships with mobile:  Mobile for Nonprofits – Connecting Donors Through the Power of Mobile
